When our constitution came into act there were exactly 395 articles in 22 parts and 8 schedules.

At present there are :

- 448 articles in 25 parts

- 12 schedules

- 103 Amendments

- Appendices 5.

The Magna Carta has long been cited as the original source for such documents as the United States Constitution. It was a document that presented ideas that were progressive beyond its time, one that still bears relevance today.

The Magna Carta primarily established the rights of 13th-century English citizens. It granted protection from unlawful imprisonment and swift justice, which established the idea that everybody, including the king, was subject to the letter of the law.

The term PIL refers to Public Interest Litigation.

Public Interest Litigation was originated in United States in 1980's. 

Public Interest Litigation is directly filed by an individual or group of people in the Supreme Court of India and High Courts and judicial member.  This petition is accepted by the court only if there is interest of large public involved. Generally this petition is filed by a public spirited person or organisation, if it was felt that certain interests are undermined by the government.
