Home Minister Rajnath Singh launched the web-based application e-FRRO (e-Foreigners Regional Registration Office) scheme under which foreigners can avail, various visa and immigration-related services online. This will facilitate hassle-free travel to India for foreigners.

Rajasthan assembly has passed an amendment bill awarding death penalty for convicts involved in

the rape of girls below 12 years of age. State Home Minister Gulab Chand Kataria introduced

'The Criminal Laws (Rajasthan Amendment) Bill, 2018' in the assembly, which was passed in the

House by a voice vote following a debate.

There are six permanent members: China, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Russia, Tajikistan, Uzbekistan. Soon India and Pakistan will also join it.

The Reserve Bank of India has appointed Smt. Malvika Sinha as Executive Director (ED).

As Executive Director Smt. Sinha will look after Foreign Exchange Department, Department of Government and Bank Accounts and Internal Debt Management Department.

Smt. Malvika Sinha holds a Masters Degree from University of Bombay and has done her Masters in Public Administration. She is also a Certificated Associate of Indian Institute of Bankers.

Smt. Sinha joined Reserve Bank in 1982 and as a career central banker served in the areas of regulation and supervision, foreign exchange and Government and Bank Accounts in the Bank. Prior to being promoted as ED, Smt. Sinha was Principal Chief General Manager, Department of Co-operative Banking Supervision in the Reserve Bank.

‘E-Cinepramaan’ is the name of the online film certification system (OFCS) that was launched by Union Information & Broadcasting Minister Venkaiah Naidu on 27 March 2017.

– This online system is being seen as a big step towards making the Central Board for Film Certification (CBFC) paperless and transparent, enabling effective monitoring and real-time progress tracking for applicants.

– E-Cinepramaan will enable producers to track the status of their application online and would be inform them through SMSes and e-mails about any required action. The system also has inbuilt alerts to ensure that time-limits are adhered to.
