n² - 3n - 88 = 0 

n² -11n + 8n - 88 = 0  

As n>0, n will not be -8. Therefore, n=11.

Here, x = 20 and y = - 20

=x + y + xy100 %
= 20 + -20 + 20 × -20100%  or  - 4%

Since the sign is negative, there is a decrease in value by 4%.
