We know that, 

Area of trapezium = 1/2 x (Sum of parallel sides) x (Distance between Parallel sides)

= 1/2 x (12 + 10) x 14

= 22 x 14/2

= 22 x 7

Given, 48 people can do a work in 17 days. So total work = 48 x 17 = 816
Work done by 48 people in 6 days = 288.

The remaining work = 816 - 288 = 528

Let the smaller number be k.
Then, larger number = (3355 + k)
Therefore 3355 + k = (6k + 15)
