The given number series is 1 8 36 ? 1100 7701

It follows a pattern that,

1 x 3 + 5 = 8

8 x 4 + 4 = 36

36 x 5 + 3 = 183

183 x 6 + 2 = 1100

1100 x 7 + 1 = 7701

Hence, the missing number in the given series is 183.

The First Generation Computers size was very large.

The CP of profitable cow  = 9900/1.1 = 9000

and profit = Rs. 900

The  CP of loss yielding cow = 9900/0.8 = 12375

and loss = Rs. 2475
