Of the 18 IT people in his department, 10 are not in Rajeev section. There is nobody in Rajeev section who is both a finance person and an IT person. Fifteen people in his department do not belong to his section.

Questions :

1)How many IT people are there in Rajeev's department who are not a finance person and are not in Rajeev's section ?

A)1      B)3      C)5     D)8

2)what number finance people in Rajeev's department are not in his section?

A)26    B)10    C)21   D)16

Answer

Finance person in his department = 26
IT persons in his department = 18
Finance person in his section = 16
IT persons in his section = 8
Total in his section = 16+8 = 24
Total people in his depatment = 26+18 = 44
only 15 people in his dept are not in his sec
and 44-24 = 20
so 20-15 = 5 people belong to both finance and IT

Answer 1)  is 'C'.

IT persons in his department = 18(total IT) - 8(section) - 5(both) = 5

Answer 2) is 'B'

Finance persons not in his section = 26 - 16 = 10
