SAARC means The South Asian Association for Regional Cooperation is the regional intergovernmental organization and geopolitical union of nations in South Asia.

It is founded in the yaer 1985. Its headquarters are in Kathmandu, Nepal.

Its member states include Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Bhutan, India, Nepal, the Maldives, Pakistan and Sri Lanka.

The Cabinet of Karnataka has agreed the creation of Vijayanagara district as the 31st District of Karnataka.
