This command is used when a large processing of data has occurred. If any large amount of deletions, any modifications, or Bulk Copy into the tables has occurred, it has to update the indexes to take these changes into account. UPDATE_STATISTICS updates the indexes on these tables accordingly.

LSMW is widely used by EDI programmers. EDI Programmers connect the SAP system to Non SAP system. During this Data migration is a necessity. When data migrates from source to destination the destination code is differrent from the source code. So what LSMW does is 

* Converts the data in to batch files

* Then converts the batch files in to source code batch files 

* And then mirgates data. Standard Interfaces like BAPI or Idoc are used in this process.

Star schema: A highly de-normalized technique. A star schema has one fact table and is associated with numerous dimensions table and depicts a star.

Snow flake schema: The normalized principles applied star schema is known as Snow flake schema. Every dimension table is associated with sub dimension table.

Differences:

- A dimension table will not have parent table in star schema, whereas snow flake schemas have one or more parent tables.

- The dimensional table itself consists of hierarchies of dimensions in star schema, where as hierarchies are split into different tables in snow flake schema. The drilling down data from top most hierarchies to the lowermost hierarchies can be done.

A prompt box allows the user to enter input by providing a text box.

- Web browser functions are to provide the resources or information to the user when asked by them. 

- It processes the user inputs in the form of URL like https://www.google.com in the browser and allows the access to that page. 

- URL is used to identify the resources and fetch them from the server and displays it to the client. 

- It allows the user to interact with the web pages and dynamic content like surveys, forms, etc. 

- It also allows the user to navigate through the complete web page and see its source code in the HTML format. 

- It provides security to the data and the resources that are available on the web that is by using the secure methods.

Dynamic binding (also known as late binding) means that the code associated with a given procedure call is not known until the time of the call at run time.It is associated with polymorphism and inheritance.

The XML DOM (document object model) is used the access and management of xml. It is a platform that is language neutral and allows a program or a script to dynamically access a document. It also allows the updation of content as well as the structure and style of the document. It is responsible for the defining of the object and properties of all xml elements as well as to define the methods for their access. There are various methods that can be used in xml dom such as:

- getElementsByTagName: used to call a specific user defined tag.

- setAttribute: used to change the value of an existing attribute.

- appendChild: used to add a child node to another node.
