Q:

Which of the following is not a correct variable type?

A) real B) char
C) float D) double

Answer & Explanation Answer: A) real

Explanation:

A variable provides us with named storage that our programs can manipulate. Each variable in C++ has a specific type, which determines the size and layout of the variable's memory the range of values that can be stored within that memory and the set of operations that can be applied to the variable.

The name of a variable can be composed of letters, digits, and the underscore character. It must begin with either a letter or an underscore. Upper and lowercase letters are distinct because C++ is case-sensitive −

Basic types of variables:

1. bool

Stores either value true or false.

2. char

Typically a single octet (one byte). This is an integer type.

3. int

The most natural size of an integer for the machine.

4. float

A single-precision floating point value.

5. double

A double-precision floating point value.

6. void

Represents the absence of type.

7. wchar_t

A wide character type.

Q:

Difference between ER Modeling and Dimensional Modeling.

Answer

Dimensional modelling is very flexible for the user perspective. Dimensional data model is mapped for creating schemas. Where as ER Model is not mapped for creating shemas and does not use in conversion of normalization of data into denormalized form.

ER Model is utilized for OLTP databases that uses any of the 1st or 2nd or 3rd normal forms, where as dimensional data model is used for data warehousing and uses 3rd normal form.

ER model contains normalized data where as Dimensional model contains denormalized data.

Q:

What is Oracle Spatial?

Answer

Oracle Spatial, often referred to as spatial, provides a SQL schema and functions that facilitate the storage, retrieval, update, and query of collections of spatial features in an Oracle database. Oracle Spatial is designed to make spatial data management easier and more natural to users of location-enabled applications and geographic information system (GIS) applications. Once spatial data is stored in an Oracle database, it can be easily manipulated, retrieved, and related to all other data stored in the database.
